Obama's Holy Connections

With the Democratic presidential campaigns whittled down to two candidates, the fight continues to see who did what in their lives. Who is connected with whom? How long was this person a friend of one who is now under federal indictment? The campaign bloggers and researchers are digging up anything they can find to hurt the opposition.

The most recent stir up in the political circles is Barack Obama’s Pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Wright has been performing sermons for Obama’s family for 20 years, he baptized Obama’s children as well as married the couple. Questions now arise on how close the two parties truly are and if these feelings displayed by Wright are those of Obama as well.

After saying ‘God Damn America” and stating that America injected people with the AIDS virus to eliminate black people, the media immediately jumped on the story. Obama took to the airwaves for damage control saying that he respects the pastor but he strongly disagrees with his positions.

With Obama now on the defense, is his damage control media tour working in the eyes of the common voter?

“I would never associate with a man like Wright, let alone let the man near my children to baptize them,” said African American church goer Mable Reagins.

“Wright basically talks about segregation and people want to turn their heads the other way and say that he's a radical and he doesn't speak the truth but in all actual reality he does,” said avid church goer Sarah Hartman.

In addition to Wright’s controversial statements, Wright also gave a lifetime achievement award to renowned anti-semite and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Once the award had been given Wright then traveled with Farrakhan to meet with Libyan dictator Moammar Kadafi. This move has only added nails to Obama’s political coffin.

The Obama camp continues to pull itself away from these comments. Time will tell how the campaign will be affected by these controversial words.
